Life on a hospital ceiling tile is the only view Um Tae-Sung has known since a reckless drunk driver left him half-paralyzed, drowning in medical debt, and trapped beneath the pitying glances of everyone around him. His solitary sanctuary is the web novel The Mage That Devours the World, a sprawling dark fantasy where magic reigns and characters fight tooth and nail for survival. When the final chapter drops, it shatters his last remaining comfort with a bleak, catastrophic conclusion where the hero destroys everything. Enraged and heartbroken by the lack of a true resolution, Tae-Sung wakes up not to the sterile smell of his hospital room, but to the sharp chill of a fantasy world.

He now inhabits the body of Mord, an insignificant background character whose life expectancy in the original story is practically zero. Armed with intimate knowledge of the novel's plot, hidden power systems, and impending apocalyptic disasters, Tae-Sung refuses to accept the cruel fate written for him or the tragic end of his favorite story. As Mord, he leverages his modern mindset and surprising hidden capabilities to rewrite the narrative. This high-stakes journey transforms an overlooked extra into an unstoppable force, driving a thrilling quest to rewrite destiny, outsmart legendary villains, and forge a genuinely happy ending.
