Step into a brutal era where seasoned fighters clash against powerful spellcasters for survival and coin. Zig is a towering, heavily scarred mercenary whose raw physical strength and battlefield cunning have kept him alive through countless campaigns. Tasked with eliminating a dangerous magic user during a high-stakes witch hunt, Zig expects just another bloody job. Instead, his fierce duel with the enigmatic sorceress shatters his expectations and forces him onto an unexpected path.

Weary of endless persecution and having her extraordinary abilities treated as a curse, the defeated witch offers Zig a surprising proposition. Rather than begging for her life, she hires him as her personal bodyguard to shield her from hunters and bounty seekers. Bound by a pragmatic contract that quickly evolves into a formidable partnership, the unlikely duo abandons the familiar lands of bloodshed. Together, they set their sights across the ocean toward an uncharted continent, hoping to carve out a peaceful existence where they can finally outrun their pasts.

The dynamic between the protagonists drives the core emotional weight and strategic combat of the series. Zig brings ruthless pragmatism, unmatched endurance, and tactical brilliance to every confrontation, serving as an unyielding human shield against threats. His companion balances his brutal approach with devastating arcane power, vast knowledge of forbidden magic, and a sharp intellect that uncovers hidden dangers on the frontier. Their growing trust transforms a simple employer-employee agreement into an unbreakable bond as they face hostile wildlife, rival mercenaries, and the ghosts of the old world.
